Importing bank transactions
Load a bank statement file, match lines to invoices and bills, and sort the rest into accounts.
Updated Nov 2, 2026
Load a file
- Open Bank and choose the bank account.
- Choose a CSV file from your bank. The program detects the columns and the date format and shows a preview.
- If a column is wrong, change it in the preview. Check that money in and money out are the right way round.
- Confirm. Lines already imported are recognised and skipped, so loading an overlapping file is safe.
Sort the lines
- Match a line to open invoices or bills. A payment is recorded against them.
- Categorise a line that has no document, such as a bank fee, by choosing an account.
- Exclude a line that does not belong, such as a transfer between your own accounts you have already entered.
- Rules remember how you sorted similar lines and can be applied to new ones.
Undo
Every action on a line can be undone until you finish reconciling that account.
