The Gulf pack

What the Gulf pack covers, what it does not do, and where to start.

Updated Nov 2, 2026

# The Gulf pack

The Gulf pack adds Arabic and English documents, VAT worksheets for the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, payroll files, and post-dated cheques. Open it from Reports > Gulf pack.

What it does not do. Pop Books files nothing and connects to no government site. It makes files and workings that you take to your own tools or your adviser: the VAT worksheets, the corporate tax and Zakat workings, the WPS salary file, the e-invoice XML and the GOSI report. Every working says *For your own filing; Pop Books does not file.*

Start here.

  1. Install the tax codes for your country: Taxes > Tax codes > Add the set (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain or Oman).
  2. Open Gulf pack > Settings. Enter your tax registration number, your company name and address in Arabic, and the emirate for the VAT 201.
  3. Issue an invoice as usual, then print the bilingual PDF from Gulf pack > Tax invoices.

Rates and rules change. Each tax pack shows when it was last reviewed and tells you to verify the rates with your tax office or adviser.
