# Matching your purchases to GSTR-2B
GSTR-2B is the statement of purchases your suppliers reported about you. You claim credit only on what appears there.
Do it
- On gst.gov.in download your GSTR-2B for the month as a JSON file.
- Open India: GST, TDS and payroll files, GSTR-2B.
- Choose the file (or paste its contents) and press Import and compare with my bills. The file stays on your computer.
How to read the result
- Matched: same supplier, same number, same amounts.
- Different: found on both sides but an amount or date differs. The table says what.
- In 2B, not in your books: a supplier reported a bill you have not entered. Enter it, or ask the supplier.
- In your books, not in 2B: you recorded a bill the supplier has not reported. The credit may have to wait.
The page also shows the credit you can claim and the credit that is blocked or not allowed, as marked in the file.
Nothing changes in your books when you compare. Fix the bills yourself and compare again.
