# Stock reports and reorder
Use these to decide what to buy, what to put on sale, and what is stuck. Most are on Stock in depth under Purchases. All of them are also in the report builder under Reports.
On the Stock in depth screen
- Reorder: items below the Reorder when below number set on the item. It shows what is On hand, what is On order, a Suggested order (the usual order size on the item) and the cost. Stock already on a purchase order is counted, so you do not order twice.
- Aging: how long the stock on hand has been sitting, in groups of 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and over 90 days, with the value of each.
- Profit per item: sales less cost for each item between two dates, with the margin.
- Fast and slow movers: items ranked by how many you sold between two dates. The top quarter are Fast, the bottom quarter Slow, the rest Steady. An item with stock and no sales at all is Not moving.
Pick the two dates, then choose Show.

Open Reports, then the report builder, and search for the name.
| Report | What it tells you | | --- | --- | | Stock aging | The same aging table, for printing or download | | Expiry warnings | Batches expired or close to expiring | | Work in progress | Material in unfinished production orders | | Production orders | Orders planned, started and finished | | Stock at third parties | Material held by contractors, and customers' material held by you | | Open sales orders | Ordered, delivered and invoiced so far | | Open purchase orders | Ordered and received so far | | Goods received, not billed | Receipts still waiting for the supplier's bill | | Landed costs | Freight and duty shared into goods | | Three-way match exceptions | Bills that do not agree with the order or what arrived |
Worked example
A shirt sells 5 a week and you hold 12, with a reorder point of 20 and a usual order of 50. Reorder lists it with 12 on hand, none on order and a suggested order of 50. You raise a purchase order for 50. Next week the list shows 50 On order and no longer suggests more.
In Aging, 40 jackets bought 100 days ago with no sales sit in Over 90 days. Fast and slow movers shows them as Not moving. That tells you to mark them down.
What to watch for
- Reports only use what you have entered. Late bills and missed receipts make them wrong.
- Aging counts material held for customers as well as your own, so it can look older than your own stock.
- Reorder depends on the reorder point being set on each item.
- Fast and slow are relative: they compare your items with each other, not with a target.
- Goods received, not billed shows a balance owed that has yet to reach what you owe suppliers.
