A photo of a worn part and a sentence from your technician answer the question "why does this cost that much" before the customer asks. You choose what the customer sees, one file at a time.
Before you start #
- You need the owner, manager, advisor or technician role to share files and notes. Only the owner or a manager sets the shop hours.
- Make a status link for the order first (see repair-status-page).
Steps #
- Add a file to the order. A photo can be JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 10 MB. A video can be MP4 or WebM up to 50 MB. Add a note to say what the file shows. Files you add this way start hidden unless you ask to share them at once.
- Open the list of the order's photos and videos. It includes the photos taken in the order's inspection. Each row shows the note and whether the customer sees it.
- Switch on Customer sees this for the files to share. Switch it off to hide a file again. Edit the note at any time; the customer sees the new wording.
- Write technician notes for the customer. Each note shows with the technician's name. Remove a note and it leaves the page.
- Open Settings, Pick-up hours and type your hours, for example "Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm". The address and phone come from your business settings. The page shows all three under Pick-up.

GETandPATCH /settings/pickup-hours(owner and manager change it). Up to 250 characters. - A file is judged by its content, not its name. Files count towards the business's storage quota.
- A customer opens a shared file only through that order's own status link.
If something goes wrong #
- "Photos can be up to 10 MB each" or "Videos can be up to 50 MB each": shrink the file and add it again.
- "Only JPEG, PNG or WebP photos are accepted": convert the picture, or add an MP4 or WebM for video.
- A file seems missing on the page: check that Customer sees this is on and the customer opened a link for this order.
