Open Banking > Post-dated cheques (or Gulf pack > Cheques).
Add a cheque. Say whether you received it from a customer or issued it to a supplier, then enter its number, bank, amount and cheque date. Choose the invoice or bill it pays, or an account (a deposit or an advance) if it pays none. Choose the bank account.
Nothing posts early. A held cheque changes no balance. The maturity calendar shows what comes in and goes out day by day for the next four months.
On the cheque date. Press *Post the cheques that are due*, or *Post now* on one cheque. A received cheque becomes a payment on its invoice, dated the cheque date; an issued cheque becomes a payment on its bill. A cheque with no invoice or bill posts to the bank account and the account you chose. Posting twice changes nothing.
If it bounces. Mark a held cheque Bounced or Cancelled. Nothing is posted and the invoice stays open.
