# Saudi VAT, the QR code and ZATCA e-invoice files

VAT. Install the Saudi set (15% standard, zero-rated, export, exempt, out of scope, reverse charge). Gulf pack > VAT returns > Saudi Arabia VAT return gives the boxes of the ZATCA return.

Phase 1 QR. On a simplified invoice the PDF carries the QR code with the five required fields.

Phase 2 file. Gulf pack > Tax invoices > E-invoice file (XML) makes a UBL 2.1 file for an issued invoice with its UUID, its counter and the hash of the invoice before it. The first export fixes the invoice's place in the chain and a second export returns the same file. *Check the invoice chain* confirms that nobody has changed a file.

What you still do. The file comes unsigned and without a certificate stamp. Take it to your own onboarding and submission tool. Pop Books does not connect to ZATCA, ask for a certificate or submit anything.
