A settlement is the pay statement for one driver and one period. It lists what each delivered load pays, what the driver paid out of pocket on the carrier's behalf, and what comes off: advances repaid, fuel and other deductions.
Before you start #
- Set the driver's pay profile.
- The loads are Delivered.
Steps #
- Open Driver pay. Choose a driver and set the pay profile:
- Per mile: the rate for each loaded mile on the load.
- Percent: a share of the freight. Tick Include driver charges to count the charges paid to the driver in the base.
- Flat: one amount for each load.
- Choose the driver and the first and last day of the period. Choose Preview. The list shows each delivered load left in that period that no settlement has taken.
- Add deductions with a description and an amount. To take back an advance, type the amount under Advance repaid. It goes on the advances ledger as a repayment.
- Choose Issue settlement. It gets a number (S-0001 and on). A load is settled once.
- Print the Settlement statement for the driver.
- When you pay the driver, choose Mark paid and the date. Pop Dispatch records the date; it moves no money.
If the deductions come to more than the driver earned, the net is negative. Carry the balance into the next settlement as a deduction.
Technical details
- Per-mile pay is held in tenths of a cent a mile (65 cents is 650). Percentage is held in basis points (25 percent is 2500). Flat is cents for each load.
