The Tyres screen has two parts: the tyre board, which lists every tyre you own, and the tyre layout of one asset. You will be able to add tyres, set an axle layout, fit and remove tyres and record tread and pressure.

Before you start #

You need the owner, manager, dispatcher or advisor role. Adding and changing tyres needs a current licence with the Fleet module.

Add a tyre and read the board #

  1. Open Fleet, then Tyres.
  2. Use Status to filter the board by All, In stock, Fitted, At retreader, Scrapped or Sold.
  3. Read the columns: Serial number, Brand, Size, Status, Retreads, Bought and Actions.
  4. To add a tyre, complete "Add a tyre". Serial number is required. Brand, Model, Size, DOT code and Starting tread are optional. Starting tread is in tenths of a millimetre, so 85 is 8.5 mm.
  5. For a fitted tyre, choose a reason (Rotation, Worn out, Damaged, Puncture, For retreading, Sold or Other) and select Remove.

Work on one asset #

  1. Under "Tyre layout", pick an asset.
  2. If the asset has no layout, "Set the axle layout" appears. Enter the Number of axles (1 to 12), choose whether the first axle steers and whether later axles have dual tyres, then select "Set the axle layout". The layout can be set once.
  3. Read each axle and its positions. A position shows the serial and brand, "Empty", "spare" and the fitted date.
  4. In "Fit a tyre", choose a "Tyre in stock", an empty Position and optionally the Date fitted.
  5. In "Record tread and pressure", choose a fitted tyre and enter Tread inner, middle, outer and Pressure (kPa).
Technical details
  • The board reads /fleet/tyres, up to 100 rows. The layout reads /fleet/assets/{id}/tyres.
  • Fitting, removing and readings post to /fleet/tyres/{id}/fit, /remove and /readings.

If something goes wrong #

  • "Enter a whole number of axles from 1 to 12.": fix the axle count.
  • "No tyre layout set for this asset.": set the layout first. Fit and reading forms appear after that.
  • "Tyre in stock" is empty: add a tyre first.
