Rates and settings decide the fare and how trips are offered. The owner or a manager changes them. Everyone on the desk can read them.

Before you start #

You need a connection to the server to save a change. Flat fares and surcharges for a zone need zones on the Zones screen first.

Meter rates #

  1. Choose Taxi, then Rates. The first part lists the meter rates.
  2. Choose Add, or select a rate and choose Change (or double-click the row).
  3. Give the rate a name and choose the class, or Any class. Set the flag fall, the number of tenths of a mile it covers, the price for each tenth of a mile, the price for each minute of waiting and the minimum fare. A blank amount means nothing to charge.
  4. Set the passengers and bags included and the price for each extra one, then choose Save.

Flat fares and surcharges #

  • Flat fares replace the meter for a trip from one zone to another. Pick the two zones, the price, and whether it applies both ways.
  • A surcharge is added to the fare when its condition matches: every trip, a pick-up or drop-off in a zone, a night window or the weekend.

Dispatch settings #

  1. Offers to drivers: the seconds a driver has to answer, how many offers go out before the desk is asked, the minutes before pick-up that a booked trip is offered, who is offered first and whether waiting trips are offered automatically.
  2. Cancellation and no-show fees: the regulator's approval is needed before you charge either fee. Leave both at 0.00 until you have it. A reminder shows while either fee is above zero.
  3. Public booking page: the switch lets riders book on the public page. The ride address shown comes from the Public web address under Settings, Business address. The limits cover notice, days ahead and bookings for each phone number.
  4. Records and addresses: the certificate holder and complaint contact print on receipts. The address lookup service is optional.
  5. Choose Save (Command-S).
Technical details
  • Routes: GET/POST/PATCH /taxi/tariffs, /taxi/flat-fares, /taxi/surcharges, GET/PATCH /taxi/settings, GET /settings/public, GET /dispatch/zones.
  • Changes use the owner and manager roles. Each whole-number setting has a range the server checks again: for example 5 to 300 seconds for an offer.

If something goes wrong #

  • "Check these fields": the message names each field; amounts are plain numbers such as 2.70.
  • Add and Change are missing: only the owner or a manager can change rates.
