Situation #
Your lot is full, or a partner holds the vehicle for you. The owner will collect it later.
What keeps working #
- The yard record stays open: the lien countdown, notices and fees carry on.
- Your own storage charge to the owner keeps counting by your rate card.
Steps in order #
- Make sure the vehicle has a yard record (see yard-intake-storage-and-release).
- Open Tow, then Partner companies, and record third-party storage: the yard record, the partner and the partner's daily rate.
- Check the table. The stay shows as open, with its days and the cost to you so far.
- When the owner is ready to collect, bring the vehicle back to your yard and record its return with the date out.
- Release the vehicle from the yard record: who collects it, the checklist and the signature (see yard-release-a-vehicle).
How to confirm it worked #
The stay shows as returned with its final cost, and the release goes through. While a stay is open, release is refused with a message that names the partner.
Afterwards #
Add the partner's charge to the yard fees if you pass it on to the owner, then raise the yard invoice (see yard-fees-and-storage-invoice).
