Your business holds data about customers, drivers, staff and taxi riders. Privacy laws in many places, such as the EU and UK GDPR, California's CCPA and CPRA, India's DPDP Act and Canada's PIPEDA, let those people ask what you hold, ask you to correct it or ask you to erase it. Your business is the one that answers. The Privacy screen gives you the tools: export, erasure, holds, retention, marketing consent and a request log.
Pop Dispatch gives you the tools. You decide which laws apply to your business, how long you must answer, and which records the law requires you to keep. Ask your adviser when you are unsure.
Before you start #
- You need the owner or manager role. Other roles do not see the Privacy screen.
- Every action on the screen is written to the audit log with record numbers and counts. The log never holds the person's details.
Steps #
- Open Privacy from the main menu. Four tabs show: Person data, Request log, Retention and Marketing consent.
- On Person data, search by name, email or phone number and choose Open on the right person. A customer, a driver, a staff member and a taxi rider each show under their own kind.
- Export their data, erase them, place a hold or log a request from the person's panel. Each has its own article: see Related.
- On Request log, set the due date for every request and mark it done. Open requests past their date are marked Overdue.
- On Retention, choose how long each kind of data is kept and turn the daily clean-up on.
- On Marketing consent, check what is recorded for a contact and record opt-ins and opt-outs.
