A time window sits on a tariff and changes its rates for chosen days and hours. You will be able to charge different rates in the evening, at night or at weekends, and see the window named on the quote.

Before you start #

You need the owner or manager role to add or change windows. Dispatchers can read them. Set up the tariff first (see taxi-fares-and-estimates).

Steps #

  1. Open Taxi, then Time-of-day rates.
  2. Add a window. Choose the tariff, give the window a name, tick the days it covers (Monday to Sunday) and set the start and end times. A window may cross midnight, for example 22:00 to 06:00.
  3. Fill in only the rates that change: flag fall, price per tenth of a mile, waiting per minute and minimum fare. A rate you leave empty keeps the tariff's own rate.
  4. Save. Switch a window off with the active setting, or delete it.
  5. Book a test trip in the window. The quote's tariff text reads "Name (Window)", for example the tariff name followed by the window name in brackets.

Quotes and meter fares use the first active window that matches the day and time. When none matches, the tariff's own rates apply.

Technical details
  • GET /taxi/time-windows, POST /taxi/time-windows, PATCH /taxi/time-windows/:id, DELETE /taxi/time-windows/:id. Days run 0 to 6 with 0 as Monday. Times are minutes from midnight. Rates are in cents, and a rate left null keeps the tariff's own.

If something goes wrong #

  • A quote ignores the window: check that the window is active, that the day is ticked and that the trip time falls inside it.
  • Two windows overlap: the first active match wins. Adjust the times so each hour has one window.
