Every tow call can print as a tow ticket, and every vehicle in the yard can print as a release form. Both come out as PDF files with your business name, logo and colours at the top, ready for the customer to sign.
Before you start #
You need the owner, manager, advisor or dispatcher role. Set your business name, logo and colours first (see branding-settings). Your address and phone number print under the name when they are saved in your business settings.
Steps #
- Open the call you want to print. The ticket shows the call number, date, customer, vehicle, pickup, drop-off, driver, truck, distance, charges and a line for the customer and driver signatures.
- Print the tow ticket. The charges come from the invoice linked to the call. A call with no invoice shows its quoted price, or "No charges recorded yet."
- Open the yard record and print the release form. It lists the vehicle, who is collecting it, the days in the yard, the storage rate with the free days, every charge, the five release checks (identity, ownership, authorisation, holds, fees paid) and a receipt line for the person collecting.
- Have the person collecting the vehicle sign the receipt line, and sign for the business.
Technical details
- The ticket is
GET /tow/calls/:id/ticket.pdfand the release form isGET /tow/yard/:id/release.pdf. Both need the Tow group of roles. - Paper is Letter, or A4 when the business uses kilometres.
- The release form takes its charges from the private-property fee lines when the vehicle came in as a private-property impound, otherwise from the linked invoice, otherwise from storage alone. Storage follows the yard rule: whole days, at least one, less the free days.
- Each print adds an entry to the audit log.
- A logo in PNG format prints. A logo in SVG format shows on screens and web pages, and the PDF header shows the business name and colours.
If something goes wrong #
- "No such call" or "No such yard record": the number belongs to another business or does not exist.
- Your role cannot print: ask the owner for the dispatcher or advisor role.
