FatturaPA (Italy)

Make a FatturaPA XML invoice with the codice destinatario or PEC, and where to send it.

# FatturaPA (Italy)

Set up. Your company: tax number (VAT number with the IT prefix is fine), address, and your fiscal regime (RF01 is the ordinary regime). Each Italian customer, under Customer details: their codice destinatario (six or seven characters) or their PEC address. A foreign customer gets the code XXXXXXX.

Make the file. Invoices are written as TD01 and credit notes as TD04, in the FPR12 layout for invoices between businesses. Zero-rated, exempt and reverse-charge lines get a nature code (N-codes); check them with your adviser for unusual sales.

Where it goes. Pop Books does not talk to the Sistema di Interscambio. Upload the file to the Agenzia delle Entrate's own invoicing service, to your provider, or send it from your certified email (PEC) to the Sistema di Interscambio address your provider gives you. The signature, if your channel needs one, is added there.

After the Sistema di Interscambio returns an identifier, you can store it under References on the invoice.

Pop Books makes the file. You send it. Pop Books does not connect to any tax authority, portal or Peppol access point, and it does not file anything for you. The layout notes were last reviewed in 2026-11; confirm unusual cases with your adviser or provider before you rely on a file in a new country.
