Open an invoice, a quote or a customer statement and press Share. Pop Books makes the PDF and a WhatsApp link that uses the customer's phone number from their contact. You then see the message that will be typed in, with two buttons:
- Save the PDF. WhatsApp cannot take a file from a link, so save the PDF first.
- Open WhatsApp. The chat opens in a new tab, or in the WhatsApp app, with the message ready. Attach the saved PDF and press send.
Nothing is sent from Pop Books and no service is called. You press send yourself.
Phone numbers
A number that starts with a plus sign is used as written. A number that starts with 00 loses the 00. Any other number loses its leading 0 and gets your country code in front. Set the country code with WhatsApp messages on the Custom fields screen. When it is empty, Pop Books uses the code that matches the country of your company profile.
A contact with no phone number still works: WhatsApp asks who to send the message to.
Messages
There is a message for invoices, quotes, statements and receipts. Change the wording under WhatsApp messages. You can use {customer}, {number}, {amount}, {due}, {date} and {company}.
On a Mac
The Share window in the Mac app has a Share sheet button as well. It offers the PDF and the message to Messages, Mail, AirDrop and any other app the Mac lists, including WhatsApp for Mac.
Who can do what
Anyone who may see the books can share a document. Changing the wording or the country code needs the permission to change setup.
