A settlement closes a period for one taxi driver: the fares taken, the commission, the day fees, the tips and the cash the driver already holds. You will be able to preview it, save it and mark it paid.

Before you start #

You need the owner, manager or fleet staff role. Trips have to be finished in the period (see taxi-tips-and-payment).

Steps #

  1. Open Taxi, then Driver settlement.
  2. Set each driver's terms: the commission as a percentage of fares and the day fee per shift day. Save.
  3. Choose a driver and a period with the from and to dates, then preview. The preview shows:
    • trips and total fares, split into cash, card, account and voucher
    • tips, and the cash part of the tips
    • commission and day fees, with the number of shift days
    • the net amount
  4. Read the net amount. Net is fares, less commission, less day fees, plus the tips paid by card, account or voucher, less the cash fares the driver already holds. A positive net means the shop pays the driver. A negative net means the driver pays the shop.
  5. Save the settlement. It gets a number. Every trip in it counts as settled and can appear in one settlement only.
  6. When the money has changed hands, mark the settlement paid and set the date. It defaults to today.
  7. Open the list of settlements to read any earlier one.
Technical details
  • Terms: GET /taxi/driver-terms and POST /taxi/driver-terms/:driver with commission_bp (basis points, 1500 is 15%) and day_fee_cents.
  • Preview: GET /taxi/settlements/preview?driver_id=&from=&to=. Save: POST /taxi/settlements. Read: GET /taxi/settlements and GET /taxi/settlements/:id. Paid: POST /taxi/settlements/:id/paid.

If something goes wrong #

  • A trip is missing: it was finished outside the period, or an earlier settlement already includes it.
  • The net looks low: cash fares the driver holds come off, so check the cash column.
