Checked against Pop Dispatch 0.1.0

A fee is a line on the repair order, so it counts in the order total. A fee marked taxable is taxed even when your shop taxes parts only. Fee types are core charge, warranty, tyre, environmental, paint materials, shop supplies and other.

Set up fee rules once #

  1. Open Canned jobs and fees and go to Add a fee rule.
  2. Choose the fee type and type the label customers see on the order.
  3. Choose how it is worked out: a flat amount, per tyre, a percent of labour, a percent of parts, or per paint hour.
  4. Type the amount (or the percent). Optionally type the most it can charge.
  5. Tick or clear Taxable, then choose Add.

Apply fees to an order #

  1. Open the repair order, choose Order work, and under Fees choose Work out fees from the fee rules.
  2. The page lists each fee it added. Choosing it again replaces the automatic fees, so a fee never doubles.
  3. Tyre fees count the quantity on part lines that carry tyre details. Paint fees count labour lines of the paint type.

Add one fee by hand #

For a core charge or a warranty fee, choose the fee type, type the amount, choose whether it is taxable and choose Add fee.

How tax is worked out #

Tax is the order's tax rate applied to the taxable base. Parts-only shops tax taxable parts and taxable fees. Shops that tax every taxable line tax each fee that is marked taxable once.
