The Stock locations screen keeps parts in several places, such as a store room or a van. You can add locations, see the quantity of a part in each, receive stock, move it and record a part used.
Before you start #
- Open Fleet, then Stock locations. The screen opens for the owner, manager, advisor and technician roles.
- The forms appear when your licence includes the Fleet module and allows changes.
- Add the parts on the Parts screen first. See shop-stock-and-parts.
Steps #
- Read Stock locations: Code and Name. "No stock locations." shows until you add one.
- To add one, fill in Add a location with a Code (required) and a Name, then select Add a location.
- Under Stock by part, type in Search and choose the part in Part. The screen shows "{n} on hand" and a table of Quantity for each location.
- Use Receive stock: choose the Location, type the Quantity and select Receive stock.
- Use Move between locations: choose From location and To location, type the Quantity and select Move between locations.
- Use Use a part: choose the Location, type the Quantity, add the asset's id and choose Used for: "Our own vehicle (repair expense)" or "A customer job (sale)". Left empty, a part used on your own asset counts as an internal repair expense. Select Use a part.
