Pop Dispatch keeps a record of each driver's duty status: off duty, sleeper berth, driving and on duty, with the totals for each day. Pop Dispatch is a record. It does not check driving limits.
An electronic logging device (ELD) has to be a registered device in the United States and a certified one in Canada, so Pop Dispatch leaves the recording of official logs to your ELD provider and takes the provider's records in.
Before you start #
- For manual entries, you need the driver's person record.
- For a provider, ask the provider for an export or an integration for duty-status events.
Steps for a manual log #
- Open Hours of service and choose the driver. The last 8 days show, with a row of totals for each day.
- Choose Add entry. Pick the status, the start time and an optional end time and location.
- A new entry closes the driver's open entry at its start time. An entry that overlaps another is refused.
- A driver can change status from the phone: Trucking, Duty status.
Steps to connect an ELD provider #
- Under ELD providers, record the provider's name. It starts as Planned.
- Set it to Active when its connector is ready.
- The connector signs in with an owner or manager API token and posts duty-status events with the driver's person number, status, start, end and location. Pop Dispatch skips an event it already has and lists any it refuses.
