Importing from TaxiCaller

Pop Dispatch has an import profile for TaxiCaller. It reads drivers and trip history, and TaxiCaller is a choice on the Import data page.

TaxiCaller's help pages publish no column names for its reports, so the profile is marked as not verified and Pop Dispatch matches each column by its name. Check the columns step on every file and change any choice from its list.

Before you start #

• You need the owner or manager role.
• TaxiCaller's admin panel manual says reports can be downloaded as PDF, CSV or XLS. Choose CSV. Pop Dispatch reads CSV and Excel (.xlsx) files and cannot read a PDF. An older .xls file needs to be opened in Excel and saved as .xlsx or CSV.
• The manual's menu names differ between versions of the admin panel, so use the names on your own screen.

Steps in TaxiCaller #

1. Open History, then Reports.
2. Choose a report type, a time period and the details, then select Get.
3. Download the report as CSV.
4. The Editor in custom reports lets you choose exactly which fields a report shows. Include date, number, customer and total for trip history.
5. For your driver list, ask TaxiCaller support for a CSV export of your drivers.

Steps in Pop Dispatch #

1. Open Settings, then Import data, and choose TaxiCaller.
2. Import drivers first, then history. For each one choose the kind of data, choose the file and check the columns.
3. Select Check the file and read the problems with their row numbers.
4. Select Import.
5. Open the lists in Pop Dispatch and compare a few records with TaxiCaller.

If something goes wrong #

• A column is missing from the mapping. Choose it from the list on the columns step.
• The file is a PDF. Pop Dispatch reads CSV and Excel (.xlsx) only, so ask for another form.
