Moving from a trial to a paid licence

A trial lasts 14 days. Its end date is the date shown as "Trial ends on" in Settings, Licence, and that date comes from the signed licence file. Reminders appear as the end gets close. When you buy a licence, enter the paid key, and your records stay where they are.

Before you start #

You need the owner role. Have your paid key from the purchase email ready.

Steps #

1. Open Settings and select Licence. Find the line "Trial ends on" followed by the end date.
2. Watch for the reminders. A banner appears when 7 days, 3 days and 1 day are left. The banner for 1 day says that the trial ends today or tomorrow.
3. Select Buy now. The pricing page at https://thepopstreet.com/products/dispatch/pricing opens in a new tab. Only the last four characters of your key go with it, as a reference.
4. Complete the purchase on that page.
5. Return to Pop Dispatch. In Settings, Licence, select Enter a new key, paste the paid key into New key, and select Activate key.
6. Check that the Plan, the "Licence runs to" date, and the devices line show the paid licence.

What happens when the trial ends #

• The system moves to read-only mode on the last day of the trial.
• You can still read, export and back up all of your records.
• Adding and changing records is paused until a licence is active.
• Your records are kept. Entering a paid key brings back adding and changing records.

If something goes wrong #

• The key is refused after you paid. Read the Activating a new licence key article for each error and what to do.
• The banner still shows after you entered the paid key. Check that the Plan and the end date changed. If they did not, the key was not activated, so select Activate key again.
• You can no longer add records. The licence has ended or was not activated. Enter the paid key to add records again.
