Situation #
People see the answer licence_read_only when they add or change a record, or GET /health shows licence: read_only or licence: grace.
What keeps working #
- Reading every record.
- Signing in and out.
- Exports and backups. Safe handling of your data never depends on the licence.
- In grace, everything works with a reminder to renew.
Steps #
- Read
GET /health. Thelicencefield saysgraceorread_only. - Find the reason.
- The licence term ended: renew it with your supplier.
- The licence was withdrawn or suspended: contact your supplier.
- More than 45 days passed since the server reached the licence service: check the server's internet connection and the date and time on the server.
- The licence belongs to another computer: ask your supplier to move it to this server.
- Take a backup now. Backups stay open in read-only mode.
- Fix the cause. Make sure the server can reach
thepopstreet.com. - Wait for the next check (the server asks every 6 hours), or restart the server to check at once.
- Read
GET /healthagain.
How to confirm it worked #
licencereadsactive.- A dispatcher can take a call without the
licence_read_onlyanswer.
Afterwards #
- Put the renewal date in your calendar.
- Keep the server connected to the internet at least once a month, so the 45 day limit stays far away.
- Check that
PSD_LICENCE_KEYholds the right key. See "How licence checks work".
Technical details
- Writes under
/auth,/exportand/backupstay open in read-only mode. - A refused check keeps the server usable for the licence's grace days, then read-only.
- A free trial has no grace days.
