Switch on vehicle tracking

Situation #

Your trucks carry a Samsara, Motive or Geotab device and you want their positions in Pop Dispatch.

Phone positions from the driver app carry on. Vendor positions join them in the same position history.
Everything else in Pop Dispatch is unchanged.

Ask your vendor whether it charges for API access. The Pop Street has no partnership with the vendors and charges no fee for this.
Collect the credentials from your vendor account: a token for Samsara, a key for Motive, or a user name, password and database for Geotab.
Open Settings, then Connections, paste them on the vendor's card and save (see telematics-connections).
Choose Test connection and read the vehicles it lists.
Switch the connection on.
Match each vendor vehicle to one of your assets.
Choose Sync now and read the result: fetched, stored and unmatched.
Open the Live map.

Matched vehicles show pins and tracks on the Live map, and the card shows connected with the time of the last sync.

Match any new vehicle when you add it to the fleet. Tell drivers about tracking as your local rules require (see live-map-consent-and-gaps).
