Getting started 1: Install Pop Books
Download Pop Books for Mac or Windows and open it for the first time.
Updated Nov 2, 2026
Pop Books is a desktop app for Mac and Windows. Your books stay on your own computer.
Download
- Go to https://thepopstreet.com/products/books.
- Choose Download for your computer: Mac, Windows (ordinary PCs, x64) or Windows (ARM PCs). Not sure which Windows? Open Settings, System, About: it says x64 or ARM.
- Only install a file you got from that page.
Open it on a Mac
- Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Pop Books into Applications.
- Open Pop Books. The first early installers are not signed with an Apple certificate yet, so the Mac says it cannot check the app.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Scroll down and choose Open Anyway next to Pop Books. Enter your Mac password.
- You do this once. After an update, macOS may ask for the Mac password again. That is normal.
Open it on Windows
- Run the installer. It installs only for you and does not ask for an administrator password.
- If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.
- Open Pop Books from the Start menu.
What you get
Pop Books Free works straight away, with no key: one person, one company, every feature, up to 40 sales documents a month, and nothing ever locks. You can also start the 14-day full trial.
