Checked against Pop Dispatch 0.1.0

Short answers about equipment.

Which computers does it run on? #

The server runs on a Mac, a Windows PC or a Linux machine that stays on during business hours. The Mac app needs macOS 14 or newer. The Windows app needs Windows 11, or Windows 10 version 1809 or later. See "Hardware compatibility guide", "Installing Pop Dispatch on a Mac" and "Installing on Windows".

Do my drivers need to install anything? #

Drivers open the driver app in the phone's browser. It works on an iPhone with iOS 16.4 or newer and on an Android phone with Chrome 108 or newer. See "The driver app, shifts, photos and signatures".

How do I connect a phone? #

Make a phone code in the setup wizard, or on the office Mac, and scan the QR code with the driver app. Each code works once and lapses after 24 hours. See "Connecting phones and computers".

Can I use the web console from any browser? #

Yes. Staff open the web console in a browser at the server's address.

What printers work? #

Pop Dispatch prints through the Print command of the browser or the Mac, so any printer that appears in that print dialog works. See "Hardware compatibility guide".

Can drivers collect a signature? #

Yes. Drivers sign with a finger on the phone or tablet screen and the signature saves on the job.

Can I scan a VIN? #

A USB scanner in keyboard mode fills the VIN box when it scans.

Can I use GPS trackers on the trucks? #

A tracker that sends an OsmAnd or NMEA position works through a small relay that you run. Drivers' phones can share their position too. See "Hardware compatibility guide" and "Phones off the shop wifi".

What should I buy for the office server? #

A Mac mini with Apple silicon (2020 or later), a mini PC or an existing office PC, plus a battery backup for the computer and the router. See the What to buy table in "Hardware compatibility guide".
