The Calls screen lists every call. You will be able to take a call, assign a driver, and follow a call to the end.

Before you start #

You need the dispatcher, advisor, manager or owner role. Drivers and trucks come from the web console, under People and Trucks.

Steps #

  1. Choose Calls in the sidebar. Click a column heading to sort. Type in the search box to filter by number, address, vehicle, contact or driver.
  2. To take a call, press Command-N or choose New call. Type the pickup address, then add the contact, the vehicle, the reason and the priority. Choose Take call.
  3. Select a call to open its details on the right. Choose a driver, add a truck and the minutes until arrival if you know them, then choose Assign.
  4. Under Move to, choose the next stage. The buttons show only the stages the flow allows.
  5. The timeline at the foot lists each change with its time.

Drafts #

The new call form keeps what you type as a draft. If the app closes before you choose Take call, a bar reading "Restored your last session" offers Review or Discard the next time you open it. Nothing is sent until you choose Take call.

Offline #

When the server cannot be reached, a banner on the screen shows when this Mac saved the copy you are looking at. Changes you make wait in the queue and go to the server when the connection returns. See "Working offline on the Mac". A call you take offline appears in the list after it is sent.

If something goes wrong #

  • "Enter the pickup address": the pickup address is the one required field.
  • An assignment is refused with a message such as "is off shift": see the article on assignment rules.
