Your customers can pay an invoice balance online. You will be able to save your own Stripe key and make a payment link for any invoice with a balance.
Before you start #
The owner saves the key. The owner, manager and advisor make links. Set the Public web address in Settings, Business address first. It starts with https. A connection to the server is needed.
Steps #
- Open Settings and find Payments. Only an owner sees it.
- Type your Stripe secret key into Stripe secret key and choose Save key. The server keeps the key sealed and never shows it again. The screen shows only whether it is a test or live key and its last four characters.
- To change it, choose Replace key. To stop payment links, choose Remove key and confirm.
- Open an invoice with a balance. Under Online payment, choose Make payment link.
- Choose Copy link and send it to the customer. The customer pays on a page from this server.
- Record the payment on the invoice yourself. Staff do that step.
If something goes wrong #
- The link needs a public address: add it in Settings, Business address.
- No key saved: an owner saves the Stripe key in Settings, Payments.
