Checked against Pop Dispatch 0.1.0

The Police rotation screen keeps one list of units for each police agency or town that calls tow companies in turn. You will be able to see who is next up and record every turn, skip and change in a log.

Before you start #

You need the owner, manager, advisor or dispatcher role. Taking a turn, skipping, sending out of turn and taking a unit off a list all happen on the server, so this Mac needs a connection. Nothing waits in a queue for later.

Steps #

  1. Choose Police rotation in the sidebar. Rotation lists on the left show each agency with its number of units.
  2. To start a list, choose New rotation list, type the agency name and choose Make list.
  3. Select a list. Choose Add unit, type the unit name and choose Add to list. The Order of turns table shows each unit with its last turn.
  4. Read the Next up card. It names the unit whose turn it is.
  5. When the unit takes the call, choose Take turn (Command-Shift-T). The unit goes to the back and the log records it.
  6. To pass over a unit for this call, choose Skip with reason (Command-Option-S), type the reason and confirm. A skip keeps the unit's place in line and is logged with your reason.
  7. To send a different unit, choose Send out of turn on that unit, type the reason and confirm. The reason is saved in the log.
  8. To remove a unit, choose Take off list and confirm.
  9. Under Log, read each turn, skip and removal in order.
Technical details

A skip applies to the current call only. When every unit is skipped for a call, the screen shows Every unit is skipped for this call. The server stores each action with the name of the person who made it.

If something goes wrong #

  • The buttons are greyed: the Mac is offline. They return when the connection returns.
  • The list shows No units on this list: add the trucks that answer this agency's calls.
