Preview and print a lien notice or release form for a vehicle

Show a vehicle's lien notice or release form on the page with its details filled in, then open the PDF to print it.

The Notices and forms card on a yard record shows a printed document with the vehicle's details filled in. You will be able to read it on the page and open the PDF to print.

Before you start #

  • You need the dispatcher, advisor, manager or owner role.
  • The Lien notice (your wording) uses the wording you saved. See "Set your lien schedule and notice wording".
  • The two Pennsylvania notices appear in the list only while the Pennsylvania rule set is on.

Steps #

  1. Open Yard, choose a vehicle and find Notices and forms.
  2. Under Document, choose Lien notice (your wording), Vehicle release form, or one of the Pennsylvania notices: Pennsylvania notice to owner and lienholder or Pennsylvania notice for an accident scene tow.
  3. Select Show preview. The document appears on the page.
  4. Select Open the PDF to print to open it in a new tab, then print from there.
  5. Choose another document and select Show preview again.
Technical details
  • Requests: GET /tow/yard/:id/lien-notice.pdf (with ?template=pa_owner_notice or ?template=pa_accident_scene_notice) and GET /tow/yard/:id/release.pdf.
  • The preview is read with your sign-in, so it needs no second sign-in.

If something goes wrong #

  • "That document could not be found.": the record may have been removed. Return to the Yard list.
  • "The document could not be made. Try again.": select Show preview again.
