When you release a private-property impound, Pop Dispatch raises an invoice for the person collecting the vehicle. You will be able to read what goes on it and where each line comes from.
Before you start #
You need the dispatcher, advisor, manager or owner role. Save your tow rates first. A rate left blank adds no line (see rate-books).
Steps #
- Open the impound and find Release the vehicle.
- Type who collects the vehicle. The invoice is made out to that name.
- Add any extra charges, each with a label and an amount. You can add up to 10.
- Record the police notification or give the reason none applies (see private-property-impound).
- Confirm the release. The invoice lines come from your rates:
- Hookup: your hookup charge.
- Mileage beyond included: the miles above the included miles, at your per-mile charge.
- Gate fee and Environmental fee: when your rate card has them.
- Storage: whole days in the yard, less the free days, at the daily rate.
- Your extras, one line each.
- Open the invoice from the impound. The record shows its number, and the yard record closes at the same moment.
When the total is zero, no invoice is raised.
Technical details
POST /tow/ppi/:id/releasetakesreleased_to,police_waiver_reasonandextras(a list oflabelandcents). The invoice, the release and the closing of the yard record happen in one step, so a second release is refused.- Hookup and mileage lines are tow lines, storage is a storage line, and the rest are fee lines.
- The person collecting is saved as a customer with the source "impound".
If something goes wrong #
- "Each extra charge needs a label and an amount in cents.": fill in both for every extra.
- "Up to 10 extra charges.": combine some extras into one line.
- A message about the police notification: record it or give the reason, then release again.
