The Map shows each truck and driver that has reported a position, and the pickup of each open call. You will be able to see who is closest to a call and whether a unit has gone quiet.
Before you start #
You need the dispatcher, advisor, manager or owner role. Positions appear once a driver's phone or a tracker reports one.
Steps #
- Choose Map in the sidebar. Trucks, drivers and open calls are separate pins.
- Read the Tracking column. Live means a position in the last five minutes. Gap in signal means the last position is older. Quiet for a day means no position for a day. No position yet means the unit has never reported.
- Select a row to centre the map on that unit. Choose Refresh (Command-R) to update at once. The screen also refreshes every 30 seconds.
Offline #
The map tiles come from Apple's map service, so they need an internet connection. Without one the screen says so and the table keeps showing the last positions this Mac saved.
If something goes wrong #
- No positions to show: nothing has reported yet. Check that drivers are on shift with the driver app open.
