An upgrade raises the seat count on the key you already have. The key stays the same, your server stays installed, and nothing needs to be set up again. You will be able to move to a bigger plan, or add a few seats, and see the new count in Settings within a minute.
Before you start #
- The email address your licence was bought with, to sign in to your account on thepopstreet.com. The account sends a sign-in link by email and needs no password.
- You do not need to type your licence key anywhere.
Steps #
- In Settings, then Licence, choose Add seats / Upgrade. Your account on thepopstreet.com opens. You can also go to My licences in your account and choose Add seats / Upgrade under the key.
- Pick the plan you want, or ask for extra seats on your current plan. Every plan has every module. Plans differ in seats only.
- The Pop Street changes the plan on your key and confirms by email.
- Back in Pop Dispatch, open Settings, then Licence and press Check now.
- The meter shows the new number, for example "Seats: 7 of 50 used".
If you do nothing, your server picks up the change at its next licence check, within 6 hours.
What stays the same #
- The licence key.
- The end date or renewal date of your term.
- Every record, user and setting.
What you can see on the website #
My licences on thepopstreet.com shows, for each key, the plan, the seats used out of the seats allowed, and the renewal or trial end date. The seat count comes from your server's last licence check and shows the time it was reported.
Technical details
- The website changes the plan, the device limit and the modules of the licence record. It signs a new licence file at the next check.
- Check now calls
POST /api/v1/licence/check, which asks the licence service for a fresh file and sends the seat count with the request. - A trial can be upgraded the same way. Choose Add seats / Upgrade, or Buy now on a trial licence.
If something goes wrong #
- Check now says the licence service cannot be reached: check the server's internet connection and try again.
- The meter still shows the old number: confirm the plan change email arrived, then press Check now again.
- You changed plans but see the old key: nothing changes about the key. Keep using the one you have.
